Most problems with non-woven interlining show up in volume, not in the sample room. A sample that fuses cleanly on one cutting table can still cause bubbling, uneven handle or shade shift once thousands of pieces run through a press. That is why buying bulk non-woven interlining is mainly a question of consistency: weight, adhesive coverage and dimensional behavior that stay the same from the first roll to the last.
Non-woven interlining is made from a bonded fiber web rather than woven or knitted yarns. Its handle and support come from the fiber blend, how the web is formed and bonded, its weight, and the adhesive coating. Because there is no yarn structure, it cuts cleanly in any direction and tends to give uniform support across the whole piece. That makes it a common choice for collars, cuffs, plackets, waistbands, pockets and facings.
It is not the right answer for every garment part. Where you need directional stretch control or a firmer tailored structure, woven interlining or hair canvas interlining may suit better. You can compare all categories on our garment interlining overview.
Our non-woven interlining range covers nylon, nylon-polyester blended and polyester constructions. Fiber name alone should not decide the choice, but it is a useful starting filter. The table below summarizes the two series whose full specifications are published on our site.
| Series | Composition | Weight Range | Published Strengths |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nylon Nonwoven Series 9 | 100% nylon, or 90% nylon / 10% polyester, carded and thermally bonded | 22 to 38 g/m² | Soft hand feel, very low shrinkage |
| Nylon Polyester Mixed Series 8 | 80% nylon / 20% polyester, mixed combing and hot rolling | 23 to 48 g/m² | Good hand feel, very low heat shrinkage, wider weight choice |
Both series are listed in widths from 36 to 80 inches and use double-dot PA (polyamide) adhesive. We also list Nylon Polyester Mixed Series 5 and Polyester Series 0; please confirm their current specifications with our team when you enquire.
A practical way to read the table: if hand feel and low shrinkage on silk, cotton or blended shirting are your priorities, start with the nylon-rich models. If you need more body for waistbands or reinforcement, look at the heavier models in Series 8 and then verify them on your shell fabric.
A model code such as SD9120 or SD8230 tells you far more than a marketing description. Check each of these items before you request bulk pricing:
| Parameter | What It Controls | What to Check |
|---|---|---|
| Weight (g/m²) | Body and support | Should be lighter than or close to the shell fabric so the garment does not feel stiff |
| Composition | Hand feel, shrinkage, wash behavior | Compare against the care label of the finished garment |
| Width | Cutting efficiency | Match roll width to your marker layout to reduce offcut waste |
| Coating type | Bond pattern and strike-through risk | Double-dot PA is listed on our non-woven series |
| Powder mesh | Adhesive particle size | Our lighter models list mesh 110 and heavier models mesh 70; a lower mesh number generally means coarser powder |
| Fusing condition | Bond strength | Published starting range: 120 to 140 °C, 12 to 15 seconds, 1.5 to 2.5 kg/cm² |
Treat the published fusing range as a starting window, not a guarantee. Our product pages say plainly that the interlining, the shell fabric and the machine should be tested together before use, because garment fabrics vary widely.
A single fused swatch proves very little. A better trial uses your actual fabric, your actual press and your intended care process. The sequence below is the one we recommend to customers before a bulk commitment:
| Symptom | Likely Cause | First Adjustment to Try |
|---|---|---|
| Bubbling after washing | Weak bond, or shrinkage mismatch between shell and interlining | Check pressure and dwell time; pre-shrink or choose a lower-shrinkage model |
| Adhesive visible on the face fabric | Temperature or pressure too high for a thin shell | Lower temperature, shorten time, or move to a finer powder |
| Stiff, board-like handle | Interlining too heavy for the shell | Step down one weight grade |
| Weak peel strength | Under-fusing, or heat not reaching the adhesive layer | Verify actual press-plate temperature with a thermometer rather than the dial |
| Roll-to-roll variation in handle | Inconsistent production lots | Compare against your retained reference piece and raise the lot with your supplier |
Our FAQ page covers further trial questions. For wash-test methods and care-label testing standards, AATCC is a widely used reference body in the textile industry.
Our product pages list the nylon and mixed series as suitable for the front parts, collars, sleeves, waistbands, plackets, pockets and reinforcement areas of casual shirts, on silk, cotton, polyester-cotton, polyester-viscose, chemical-fiber and wool fabrics. For other garment categories, structure matters more, and our solution pages go deeper:
Special requirements have dedicated options as well, such as enzyme wash interlining for garments that go through enzyme washing, GRS recycled interlining for recycled-content programs, and needle punch felt for collar and chest structure.
When roll-to-roll uniformity matters, the supplier's process controls matter as much as the product itself. According to our Advantage page, the points relevant to bulk buyers are:
| Area | Stated Practice | Why It Matters to a Buyer |
|---|---|---|
| Coating | Double-dot transfer with nickel alloy rotary screens; glue dot uniformity stated at 99% or higher | Even adhesive coverage supports steady bonding and washability |
| Testing | Strength, temperature resistance and environmental compliance tests on each batch | Gives you batch-level evidence when a lot is questioned |
| Traceability | Barcode on each finished roll tube core with production date, shift, raw material supplier and batch number | Lets you trace a defect back to its source |
| Delivery | Factories in Jiashan (Zhejiang) and Wannian (Jiangxi); a 10,000 m² automated warehouse | Supports scheduled call-offs against your production plan |
The company states that it holds ISO 9001 quality management and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification. As with any supplier, ask for current certificate copies and check their scope and validity directly with the issuing bodies: ISO on quality management and OEKO-TEX. A precise enquiry shortens quoting time and reduces the chance of an unsuitable sample. Please include:
Use them as a starting point only. Shell fabric, press type and care requirements all shift the ideal settings, so confirm with a trial first.
Start from your priority. Nylon-rich models emphasize soft handle and low shrinkage; blends in Series 8 extend the weight range for firmer support. Trial both on your fabric.
